Reset Memory on AirSense 10

Post by RCP1943 » Mon Jun 08, 2020 12:38 pm

Is there a way to reset the memory that shows on the screen on this machine. I have a little red face for the seal but not sure if this is old information. Mask check shows it is fine. I am sleeping well and wife says not snoring. So we know it it working. I want to "start over" and see what it shows. Thanks

I believe the summary (where you see the mask fit) is only for the last session. You could get OSCAR and read the information on the card to see what the actual leak values are (this might also be on the summary, can't recall).

The Mask Check can only show how well it fits during the test, of course. While you are sleep, the problem could be a poorly fitting mask, or mouth breathing (assuming you're not using a full face mask), or just a seal that doesn't last all night. The latter is definitely the case for me with my current mask....

The default reporting is for a 30 day time frame. You could reset it to show only 1 day if you wish.

There is also a way to erase ALL prior therapy data but that erases everything.

See the manual.

Huh ... that's interesting. So if I see it oscillating day by day from red to green face for Mask Fit, does that suggest I am 'on the edge'???

Possibly on the edge in terms of that line in the sand. At least in long term average. Perhaps you already have it set for 1 day instead of the default 30 day.. Long term averages take a lot to change them long term. A few nights with really bad leak are going to mess things up in terms of the average until those nights fall out of the 30 day total.

Since the OP didn't ask about what all it means I didn't go into that area. The question was "can we reset the leak data point" and yes, we can...well sort of.

Everyone needs to remember...any restart of the machine in terms of loss of power either due to power outage or unplugging the machine will result in the machine going back to the 30 day reporting average for everything. That's the default.
If you have a power outage or unplug the machine for any reason and you want a single night report to show up on the LCD screen you have to go back in and change it to one day.

Just checked ... it is set at the default for 30 days, so I guess it is on the edge on after. LOL!

Which reminds me....we had a power outage a few nights ago due to thunder boomers....I guess I need to go change the display but to be honest I rarely look at it except to see the hours of use (been having trouble with sleep maintenance insomnia) but if I want to see a true reflection of last night I need to go change it.

I wish RobySue was still active here. She's a math whiz and could explain why and how just a few hours of bad numbers can impact our averages long term or at least until they fall out of the calculations. I understand it but can't explain it very well.
It's complicated...partly because of the definition of the 95% number and partly just the law of big numbers in terms of averages.

Here's her explanations about the statistics numbers..

And you know what they say, there's lies, damn lies, and statistics.

People put far too much weight on those single numbers, but they're pretty meaningless.
