hose-bacteria filters, scam gadget or a necessary item?

Post by ronragus » Mon May 25, 2020 3:17 pm

Have anyone been using bacterial filters such as these? https://www.cpapoutlet.ca/en/Product/Vi ... -6301/1655

I see that on my airsense 10's settings menu there is actually a section for "AB filter". Are these filters useful for anyone here or not really? thanks

Some users who have allergies swear by them. Especially during "allergy season".

Some users will swear at most things XPAP! I use OTC Pills for allergy problems and the two filters that came with my XPAP, year around. Night is the only time my nose works right. Jim

An in-line filter like that will get wet if you use any humidification at all... which is not a great thing to happen to an anti-bacterial filter!

If you need more filtering of allergenic particles, you can get an hypoallergenic filter for you A10 which goes on the air inlet to the device rather than on the outlet.

IF, and I say if, the AB filters were made to fit on the air INTAKE,
instead of "downstream" from the water tank, they might be useful.
In any case, it is unlikely they would have any effect on VIRUSES.

I'm of those people that uses them for allergies, they help.

I've never seen any harm come from using them with heated humidity, other theories to the contrary.
