If humidity is that much of a problem (I had terrible sinus issues for the 7 months I lived in Hell--AKA Yuma, AZ) try these things because it's probably not just your nasal passages that are drying out:

1. Make sure you are well hydrated. Drink water early (to avoid getting up at night to undrink  ) and drink often, with some electrolytes too.
2. You can hydrate your nasal passages with saline spray or a netti Pot. There's also something called Ayr Gel which is a saline nasal gel that won't carry the risk of lipids in your lungs.
3. Consider a room humidifier to bring the ambient humidity up a bit (but it has to be kept very clean!)
4. Make sure you aren't mouth breathing, regardless of what type of mask you wear. That just dries everything out.

I was having extreme dry nose too. The Lanisoh helps tremendously. I use it every night with nasal pillows and have no problems. I put a dab on the ends of my pinky fingers and rub it all around inside, as far up as I can reach. You don't have to glob it on inside the nostrils. Many years ago my doc had me treat inside my nostrils with Neosporin, which is vaseline based. It does not stay in place nearly as well as Lanisoh. By the way Lanisoh is a brand name for lanolin, and easily found in baby departments of most any store. I got mine at Wal-Mart. Best of luck!

I don't have allergies, yet most nights when I go to bed one of my sinuses clogs up.
Are you aware that many users report high humidifier settings cause nasal congestion?
I can vouch for this being a problem. After not using the humidifier for a long time, I decided to give it another whirl 3 months or so ago. I added a heated hose to my AirCurve and set humidity and hose temp to "Auto". I started having nasal congestion right away and eventually associated that with a rise in my AHI numbers. Dialing the numbers down manually resolved all of that.

I've used Neosporin to help me out when I get blisters on the contact area of my nose from pillows, but extended use of that definitely does degrade the material. The pillows get "floppier", as best as I can think to describe right now, and they increasingly fail to hold a seal properly.

Lanolin won't degrade the silicone.
