Discomfort

Several times while using the nose pillow, I have been knashing my teeth and are very sore waking up. Any suggestions?

Welcome, brcoyne. When you have a chance, could you fill out your profile with your machine and mask info? I wonder whether your grinding or gnashing your teeth in an effort to keep your mouth closed. Does that sound plausible? If yes, you might want to experiment with a soft cervical collar, which can hold your jaw up for you.

Also, if you're physically grinding your teeth, you might try a bite plate.

Inexpensive alternative: boil and bite sports mouthpiece.
Not as refined as a custom plate from your dentist, but a reasonable starting point.

Thanks for your replies. I thought of a mouth guard for sports, as I used to wear one for football, but I don't think I would be able to wear one while sleeping. Maybe I will contact my dentist to see whether or not it will be suitable.

Your dentist will disagree.
But he would not be totally wrong, though.
I suggested the sports mouthpiece as an inexpensive temporary trial
to determine effectiveness and tolerability.
For some, financial discomfort has more weight than physical.
