My APN- HYP Index as listed on my REMStar "M" Series is 9.4 per hour. Does this seem a little high for being under therapy? I have my machine set for auto from 10 - 14 CM and the 90% pressure is 13.7.

If you're seeing AHI's of 5.0 or more most nights for a week or so, yes, I'd say that's rather high.SleeplessInLasVegas wrote:My APN- HYP Index as listed on my REMStar "M" Series is 9.4 per hour. Does this seem a little high for being under therapy?
I'm not a doctor or anything in the health care field. If it were me, I'd set the range at 11 - 16 or 12 - 16 and see how that goes for awhile.SleeplessInLasVegas wrote:I have my machine set for auto from 10 - 14 CM and the 90% pressure is 13.7.

SILV,
You should be able to see in the software reports where the events are occurring. If they're happening at the lower pressures, move your bottom pressure up (as RG suggested). You should also be able to see if they're mostly made up of apneas or hypopneas......leaks, snoring, etc.

Also you use a nasal mask, could you be mouthbreathing? Do you tape? If you can't maintain the pressure needed to splint your airway open, treatment won't be successful. Jim

Re: APN - HYP Index
Yeah, I'd bet (Vegas, huh?) that you can get it down well below 5. What does your Encore Pro software show? Do your events happen at maximum pressure? Do you see any NR flags? If your answers are yes and no, respectively to these last two questions, then raising your maximum pressure as RG suggested is probably the right thing to do. Otherwise, you probably want to consider other possibilities.SleeplessInLasVegas wrote:My APN- HYP Index as listed on my REMStar "M" Series is 9.4 per hour.
