Medistrom Pilot 24 Plus

Post by Bassist » Mon May 04, 2020 10:59 am

Greetings all,
I'm a newbie on this forum.

I've had my Pilot-24 Plus battery for about two years now, and last November I acquired the Co Pilot 24.

I use these every night, as power over here can be unreliable. They're always connected to the AC wall Socket during use, if power goes off, I don't notice at all.

Last night however, the Pilot 24 suddenly went off. There's a yellow and green light flashing now concurrently. It won't charge and doesn't work.

Manual says it means over discharge. I wonder how that would happen when it's plugged to the Co Pilot and AC outlet.

Any ideas or solutions?

Thanks.

Lithium ion batteries may have a particular voltage below which they should not be discharged. It sounds like that happened. A decent battery pack should include circuitry that restricts you from over-discharging your battery. Does this model have that type of circuitry? It may be time to talk to the dealer or Medistrom directly to find out whether you can save your battery pack.

Thank you for your reply Chris.

I've contacted Medistrom, they say it could be a cell issue, they've given me steps to follow to see if it can be revived. Otherwise it will need replacing. Not sure about the cost of shipping it for repair, might have to buy a new battery, unfortunately, bar a miracle.

If it's still under manufacturer's warranty, it may be worth the effort of sending it back for replacement. Good luck!
