medicaid restock schedule question

Post by ferrarifan » Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:07 pm

I have a medicaid restock question for anyone living in Georgia. I found out when i tried to restock that medicaid has a 6 month restock schedule for Georgia. I was wandering if this is 6 months from the date you got the machine or 6 months from the beginning of the year. Can someone please clarify for me and help me understand this rule?

From when you got the machine with new supplies. Note...Are you sure you have the correct machine listed in your profile? AirStart vs AirSense ?

Just because someone told you to throw away perfectly good stuff and get more, doesn't mean you should actually do that.

Get a spare or two, and then use things until they don't function properly anymore, THEN replace them.

Or if you are hard to fit, and it took 20+ masks to find one you can live with, do like me.
And have six months worth of insurance when those stinkers DISCONTINUE IT!

Generally speaking any replacement schedules for anything will use when you first got the product and not necessarily have anything to do with the calendar year as in restarting on Jan1.

State Medicaid structures though....they don't always follow what is normal and every state can be different.

My state’s Medicaid looks at when you last purchased (through them) various items. That means the timer starts when you are first issued a machine and supplies to take home. However, if I miss the reorder date and get supplies a little late, the timer for the next batch starts when the new supplies get shipped.

This sounds like a question for your DME, if you're using a DME.
In lieu of that, you could contact Georgia Medicaid Services directly.

Thank you.
Now if you could change the entry in your profile--so we know you have a GOOD machine.
Please, pretty please?
