WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
I've been reading many emails on the topic, but they're disjointed and I'm getting confused.
I would like to know the setup sequence start to finish for a new Toshiba FlashAir W-04 64 GB SDXC Class 10 Memory Card that will work in a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset machine and connect to my Mac. The SD card is arriving today (64GB was all Amazon had in stock).
A few things to note:
1) I believe I have to partition the SD card into 2 partitions to create a 32FAT partition. I have no idea what that means or how to do it.
2) I have a 5 Hz network that functions as 5 Hz and 2.4 Hz. Will this work?
Thanks for your help!!!

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
I use Sleep Master to download the data from my FlashAir to my Mac.
Available here:
http://www.sleepmaster.org/home.html
My CONFIG file is:
You do not have to format or partition your FlashAir. Simply place it into your ResMed and the ResMed will set the card up in the format required, which is readable by your Mac.
The FlashAir can't use 5GHz, only 2.4, so long as your network does 2.4 you should be fine.
You can also set your FlashAir up using Sleep Master, simply follow the prompts.
I set mine up using a static IP, this way I always know the IP address, just make sue your IP is outside of your DHCP range. Also ensure your CPAP is within range of your Router/Access Point mines about 30 feet.
Available here:

My CONFIG file is:
Code: Select all
[WLANSD]
DHCP_Enabled=NO
IP_Address=192.168.1.200
Subnet_Mask=255.255.255.0
Default_Gateway=Default

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
Yikes! I created a static IP address of 10.9.9.99. I had no idea it had to be somewhere between 10.0.0.1- 10.0.0.254. What can I do now? It's not finding my IP on the SD card. How do I proceed?

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
After putting the SD card configured with IP 10.9.9.99 into the CPAP machine, I get the following two pop up messages? What do I do?

Delete the user profile in Sleep Master. And re-enter.
Set the IP address to 10.0.0.250, that's within the range and hopefully not in your DHCP scope.

I did the above and set the IP to 10.0.0.250. Ran it and and same situation arose. Not sure what to do next. Ack!!!!

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
Go to terminal, enter:
ping 10.0.0.250
If it responds with a time, than the flashair is on the network and reachable, the problem is likely within the flashair/cpap settings :
64 bytes from 10.0.0.250: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=115.425 ms
If you are getting timeouts, than there is a network configuration problem, net mask perhaps, SSID, mode, password...:
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
A print screen of the Sleep Master screen would be more valuable.

The ping requests show good connectivity. To end the ping command press CONTROL C
Your CONFIG file looks good.
Sleep Master not finding it suggests it doesn't recognize it as a device with data on it. One consideration is to leave it in your device, and then in the morning after a nights worth of Data has been written to it, may it will find it.
Every morning, I click "Load User Profile", 30 seconds or so and my profile displays. Then I do a "Download Sleep Data" and in a few minutes it's there.

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
Do I do this within SleepMaster or Oscar? In other words, how to get the info from the SD card in my machine to the Oscar program?

Re: WiFi SD Connection for Mac - Start to Finish
Every morning:
Another consideration for you is to try FlashPap to move your data from the FlashAir to your Mac.
https://www.cognitial.com/apps/java-apps/flashpap/
I don't use it, so can't offer any advise.
- In SleepMaster:
- I click Load User Profile. This will load my profile and search for my FlashAir card.
- Upon finding the Card, I then choose Download Sleep Data. This will download the data onto my Mac.
- In OSCAR:
- I then choose CPAP Importer. This will prompt me to import the data I just downloaded.
