Post by Funbjj » Thu Apr 09, 2020 3:45 pm

Please help I m a new user if CPAP, everything is working fine except for the heated humidifier. When turn on I get the error code 005 : heater failure thermal fuse blows off. It s hard to get a technician due to a lockdown in my country. Any Idea please ?

To state the obvious, the fuse needs to be replaced.

Until you can get help from the supplier, you could use the machine without water in it. If you are lucky, you may find your nasal passages do not get dry when using the machine without water.

If you want to try this, turn the humidifier heat off. Here is the user manual - https://www.respshop.com/manuals/iCH+AU ... Manual.pdf

Note: Not all users need the humidifier. There are a number of us here who don't use the humidifier. Your experience may be different.

Thanks for your help, is leaving water without heating can enhance humidity?

Yes. You will get some moisture added to the air even without adding heat. As the air passes over the water it will pick up a small amount of moisture. This is called pass over humidity. It's minimal but it is a bit of moisture and some people are okay with it.

Another thought, make sure your machine is not sitting where a vent from air conditioning or heating is blowing near the machine. Air coming from a heating vent or air conditioning vent usually is drier than room air.
