New S9 AutoSet

Post by bayareacpap » Fri Apr 03, 2020 2:57 pm

I noticed that Secondwind is selling some new S9 Autosets with warranty. Can anyone confirm that this is a legitimate website? Asking because the 10 has been around for a while so was surprised that the S9 can still be purchased new.

I have used them twice. In fact, I just received my second machine from them this week. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Very legitimate seller.

A lot of their new in box with zero hour machines they buy from DMEs who have had machines sitting on the shelves or in warehouses for years and they just never dispensed them. They over bought in other words. ResMed may have also had some S9 models stockpiled.
Heck a couple of years ago ResMed donated several truckloads of brand new zero hour machines to a charitable medical organization to dispense to people who can't buy one and needs one and they don't have insurance. S8 machines brand new...and the S9 was released in 2010....and 8 years later ResMed donated truckloads to that charitable organization.
So they quit making something....doesn't mean there isn't a stockpile of that machine in probably lots of places.
Eventually the places with the stockpiles decide to move the inventory and places like secondwind buy them up and resell them.

BTW...secondwindcpap.com helps in the dispersal of those charity machines. It has nothing to do with their store business. They make no money on it but the charitable organization contacts second wind and tells second wind to send so and so machine to this so and so person and they do it. Did they get a good deal on S9 machines that they can sell from ResMed???? Maybe...but who cares.

All you have to do is do a forum search on their name and you will find that they've been doing business with forum members since 2007.

I have a story about how helpful secondwindcpap is that should affirm just how good they are.

I was helping a guy in Australia with his apnea issues. He ended up with significant treatment emergent central apnea that wasn't going to reduce with time and was pretty bad. He needed ASV and at the time the S9 Adapt was what was offered from ResMed. There are 2 adapt models...the 36007 and 36037 and the later has auto adjusting EPAP while the first model doesn't.

This guy couldn't find one in Australia except at outrageous prices so we decided to get him one from secondwindcpap and I strolled through the available machines and found a suitable model and I called Mark at secondwind and asked him to set one aside for this guy as they were in limited supply. I told the guy which machine to order but unfortunately he ordered the wrong machine...he ordered and paid for a S9 VPAP Auto which is the regular bilevel and not the ASV bilevel. So it got shipped to Australia and we quickly realized he got the wrong one. I called up Mark and he told me "I wondered why I didn't get an order for that one I set aside for him""...anyway he said I will make it right. He overnighted the correct machine to the guy in Australia without having the returned machine back yet. He did this even though the error wasn't on their end. Later they sorted out the price difference but the guy didn't have to wait for a prolonged time for his machine.

These folks are super nice. Mark is a RT...and maybe some other there as well. Totally trustworthy people and will bend over backwards to help.
