Only reason I see a sleep dr. is to keep my prescription and get my supplies. My DME supplier wants a new prescription every year.

It is a local company in Tyler, TX named CPS

Accvording to them Medicare doesn't pay to replace a dead power supply either

i continue to count my lucky stars that i am privileged enough that i don't have to rely on medicare for my cpap or supplies.

I don't have to use Medicare, but I do once in a while. I probably get just as much from cpap.com, eBay, and other sources as I do Medicare. Our two primary machines were purchased through Medicare, but our back up machines were purchased privately. One was through the forum from a member that had it and didn't need it (zero hours on the machine) and the other through Facebook Marketplace (less than 110 hours on the machine). I am old school and use things until they are no longer usable. I don't change things on a scheduled basis. I am a firm believer in the "If it ain't broke, don"t fix it" school of thought.

sounds eminently sensible to me. i've only been on medicare since last may. so far, a flu shot was covered. haven't been in to see a doctor since then, but going in next week. not for anything major, just to have her look me over.

so we'll see what medicare pays there.

how did we get on this topic, anyway?

I'm sure there are many here who don't have to use Medicare for CPAP and supplies. If you have Part B Medicare you are paying for it anyway so why not use it. If you don't have part B medicare or something to cover that you are living on the razor's edge IMO.

everything cpap related was purchased before i went on medicare. it may well be that my next purchase will be made using medicare,
