Does a CPAP record # of times I get out of bed?

Post by W&A'sGrammy » Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:14 pm

My sleep is really disrupted by severe Restless Legs Syndrome. The sensation of one or two quick jerks of one leg or my sudden awareness that whole-body jerks are about to start wakes me up. Then I hit the CPAP control to stop it, slip off the mask, and get out of bed. I take some additional medication and walk around and around the house until it hits. Then it's back to bed--until next time.

Obviously, my current medication is pretty ineffective. I think I do sleep soundly during what amounts to multiple naps (night-time plus daytime). But I don't feel rested.

Does the number of times I get up in the night (sometimes half a dozen or more) and the number of daytime naps I take show up on his print-out from my machine, or not?

Thanks in advance!

yes, as long as your machine stops when you get up.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

If you DO have the dreamstation auto, then your machine records your every breath, so it's easy to see how many times you turned it off during the night.

It records whenever you disconnect the mask from the machine, whether you turn the machine off or leave it blowing. It does not record whether you got up or whether you remained in bed lying down.

I don't have the Dreamstation auto. I had to make certain selections on my profile, but none of the choices applied to my devices! I have a Phillips Respironics CPAP machine and use a Wisp mask that fully covers my nose (not nasal pillows). I clicked on the possible types of mask and machine that came as close as possible to what I have.

Thank you for your response!

No, no you didn't.

The wisp is a nasal mask, not a pillow mask.

All the types of Dreamstation are listed.
Find your machine, even if you have to look on the bottom for the REF number, and select the right one based on this chart:
