Leaks and Events
Re: Leaks and Events
You can turn off those short sleep sessions that mess with the graph images.
On the left side...scroll all the way down below machine settings and look for "sessions".
You can click on the short session and change it from green to red and it's hidden and your graphs on the right side won't have that big blank gap.

Awesome. I was highlighting the area of actual sleep. Didn't know about the toggles down there! Thanks!

Re: Leaks and Events
Did you spend much time on your back last night?
You did okay until around 05:20 and then things went downhill. Were you for sure asleep after 5:20 when all that ugliness happened?
Something changed to cause the need for substantially more pressure. Assuming you were for sure asleep the 2 usual suspects for that are supine sleeping or REM stage sleep. Normally REM stages don't last as long as we are seeing here which makes me suspect supine sleeping.

Min 13, max 20 on the pressure, may need 15 to open up that airway...maybe even more.

I tend to toss and turn throughout the night. I don't believe I slept on my back at all. I always sleep on my sides.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 11:59 amDid you spend much time on your back last night?

Re: Leaks and Events
I'll make those changes tonight. A quick question...the higher the pressure the higher the chance of air leaking out around the mask?

Yes. The higher the pressure, the harder it is to prevent leaks.ggrimes620 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 3:41 pmI'll make those changes tonight. A quick question...the higher the pressure the higher the chance of air leaking out around the mask?

I believe the charts are looking a little better after the adjustments last night.

Better indeed! If you did all right, I'd go for a min of 14 tonight.

Re: Leaks and Events
Ok. I had a hard time falling and staying asleep last night for some reason. I do know there were several times throughout the night I was woken up by air blowing out all around my mask. What do you do when that happens? Do I tighten the mask even more? That is the only thing that makes sense to me at this point.
Here are my results from last night. The numbers look better.

Re: Leaks and Events
Turn your machine off and reseat the mask normally when you get those middle of the night leaks at the higher pressures.
If it happens often then you probably need to do your mask fitting at a higher pressure at the beginning of the night.
Whatever pressure you are using when you are fitting the mask at the beginning of the night isn't enough so that you can cover the higher pressures. What seals great at 10 cm might not work so great at 18 cm.
I never do much of anything for random rare off situations. So unless this happened a lot then I probably wouldn't do anything other than restart the machine at the lower pressure and try to make the best of the night.

Re: Leaks and Events
Do you have a mask liner? they were a huge help for me, it won't eliminate leaks, but it will tame them, so they probably won't wake you up.ggrimes620 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 6:16 pmOk. Re: Leaks and Events
No, I don't have a mask liner, but I will be buying one tonight from Karen's website!
