They told me my machine was a rent to own, which is what most insurance companies do.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER take what a DME says about coverage for CPAP without double checking yourself. They lie like snakes. It may be true that "most insurance companies" rent to own, but that doesn't mean YOUR insurance coverage does. So always, always, always check.

Some give you the option to buy immediately or after a certain period and you will almost always save money that way, because the typical "rent to own plans" go 13 months to guarantee you hit TWO deductible periods. Calculate your out of pocket costs to determine if you are going to be better off simply buying the machine out of pocket.
