Horrible Sleep & Need Help W/Settings Advice

Post by pitman » Tue Feb 18, 2020 6:29 am

I have been struggling with sleep for a long time. Typically only sleep 3 hours, then up for an hour or two, then back to sleep for 2 hours. Experiencing bloat, headaches and fog. I just replaced the machine after 6 years which shows RERA which is concerning and I do not understand causes other than flow issues. I am severely overweight (100lbs) and gasp for air. Is there anything I can do on the settings? I have had them at 4-20, 8-20, 10-15 and it seems to maintain at 13-13.5 with a AHI of <3 most of the time. I am a mess and need to lose the weight but this severe sleep disruption is rough to say the least. Help is appreciated.

Your charts are too compressed to see much but you definitely need more Maximum pressure. Increase it to 20 and watch your AHI drop.

Don't try to cram so many graphs into one image. Makes them all too small to be useful. You can resize those graphs to make them easier to see.

Turn off the pie chart on the left side (preferences/Appearance tab...remove check mark for show pie chart).

See this thread for examples of how we need to see the graphs

These graphs on the right
Events
Flow rate
Pressure
Leak
Flow limitation
Snores only if they show much activity

Are you still getting bad bloat and belly issues at these settings...10 minimum and 11 max?
If so, the first thing I suggest is to try is add in some exhale relief (EPR on your machine) to see if the drop during exhale helps relieve the belly issues or not.
You do need more maximum pressure but if more maximum pressure causes severe belly issues then maybe the belly issues are causing more of a problem than the apnea events that could be killed off with more pressure are causing.

My suggestion...turn EPR on full time and set it to 3
Continue with your 10 cm minimum but increase the max just a little and see if a little helps and maybe doesn't cause too much bloat.
So maybe 12 max for now.

Pugsy thank you for the excellent help! I made those adjustments, and also increases the max a bit. I am sleeping much better. I am now focusing on losing my big gut so I can see if that will help. I am ready.

glad you are sleeping better.

however, we can't see the info on your graphs because you have too much going on there.

please format as pugsy asked.

good luck!

Your screenshot is practically useless.

We only want to see *SIX* charts, unless otherwise requested.

Please resize them if you want more help.

Make it look like the example in the middle of this guide:

Here is my attempt at formatting the chart. Thanks for all of the help here.

How do things look now?
