Saggy lower eyes, tinnitus, feeling awful and tired

Post by Pascalart » Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:38 am

I’m experiencing some really bad symptoms of tired eyes, with really bad swelling and sagging lower eyelids. The bags below my eyes have been getting worse and worse over the last year, with the feeling also of acute tiredness and even disoriented dizziness and confusion. Ears ringing, feeling like death. I’m certain it’s down to CPAP. Been to the Dr, been to the CPAP specialist, they don’t know what’s up. I’ve had hearing / audiology tests, it’s not that. I know it’s CPAP!! But why?

Perhaps it is time for you to take control of your PAP therapy in order to assess the optimization/customization of the pressures by using a full-data APAP and reports from patient-oriented software?

welcome to the zoo! sorry you are having such a rough time of it. but you can get help here. as jnk... says, read that newbie thread.

in there you'll find some helpful advice. we don't all have the same interaction with cpap. we each have different needs. so it would be helpful if you would get the free software, oscar. that will generate some graphs of your sleeping experience. those can be posted here, for the experts to see.

once they see that, they'll be able to offer advice for you regarding getting the best out of your machine. without data, there's not a lot that we can say about your situation.

the link to oscar software is in my sig.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

You didn't give us any information that can help us help you. What machine are you using? What are the settings? It is very easy to blame things on CPAP that aren't caused by the CPAP machine. CPAP can only treat obstructive sleep apnea, not other things that can cause crappy sleep. Some of the symptoms you mention can be caused by crappy sleep which can be caused by many things. Give us more information, and we may be able to help you.

And could you fill out your equipment profile? I'm especially interested to know what kind of mask you are using, though the Oscar data are at least as important!
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

Without further information, it is not the cpap, but likely inadequate settings.
Other things could be causing your problems.
