Re: Back pain with cervical collar
I'm just a old mechanic, but if I clamped vice grips on my little finger and felt pain I wouldn't have the need to ask if I needed to stop doing it.
I wouldn't stop XPAP treatment, I'd start using it correctly, with a full face mask and software (Oscar). People here can help you get your treatment correct. XPAP use doesn't require adding pain. Jim

well, if'n i were you, i wouldn't use the cervical collar you are using. it appears to be stiff. were it me, i'd try something more along the lines of what you find at your local walgreens or rite aid or cvs or what have you.warp3456 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 9:02 amI've been using cervical collar soft tynor with chin support for 4 nights I now have pain in. go to the aisle where they keep the knee braces and bedpans and stuff like that. you know, stuff for old folks like me.
i think what you are wearing is too stiff and i don't know for sure, but seems like that stiffness is bothering your back.
good luck!

Re: Back pain with cervical collar

You seem to have bought the nuclear model. Check out Zonker's advice on an ordinary firm foam cervical collar.
BTW, I doubt the cervical collar itself is causing lower back pain. But, because of the collar, you might be sleeping in an unorthodox position that causes lower back pain .

Try The Eliminator Soft collar available on Amazon.

I am new to all this , we are here to help each other
it's good to get some contructive opinions.I may have bought an unsuitable collar ,I wouldn't say it's soft but it's days soft by tynor.. I will refrain from using it. I may try The Eliminator" on Amazon and may try a chin strap also.trial and error

Re: Back pain with cervical collar
I had thought of addressing the problem with a makeshift "brandy keg" (pool noodle, etc.)
Then I realized my jaw drop was going away by itself with cpap treatment.
Good stuff tends to happen if you let it.
Fingers crossed for you.
