I've had my current CPAP machine for about 2 years now and have had no trouble until recently. Occasionally, I am awakened by my mask fluttering on my face when I exhale. I have an analytical and logical mind, so I tend to "test" my breathing at that point. I generally sleep only on my left side. I have found it happens when I'm on my side no matter how I breath, but if I simply change position to my back, the fluttering stops. Turn back over to my left side and it stops. No matter how I breathe, fast, slow, firmly, softly, when it flutters, it flutters no matter what. This is either the first time happening or the first time I noticed it as of late.
Has anyone else experienced this? For what it's worth, my sleep number is 11. I have lost nearly 100lbs and am still going. Could my losing weight change how my CPAP responds?

Re: CPAP Full Face Mask Fluttering
Welcome to the forum.
More likely is that the weight loss has affected the way the mask fits your face especially when you are on your side....causing leaks...that's the fluttering sounds you hear.

Mask liners were a game changer for me, the best come from padacheek.com

Re: CPAP Full Face Mask Fluttering
Thank you. The odd thing is there were no leaks that I could feel or hear. It's like the seal was throbbing on my face when I exhaled. It doesn't happen all that time and that's what makes it difficult to understand.
