Nasal Pillow Pressure Issues

Post by tahall0717 » Mon Feb 03, 2020 1:18 pm

I have used CPAP for 4+ years, with an AirSense 10 machine and AirFit P10 nasal pillows. When I travel to high altitudes (8000+ ft), I have issues with two problems. (1) In some cases, it seems as if the air flow is not sufficient to meet my needs. I have had some success resolving this by increasing the machine pressure. (2) The other problem is that the air diffusers of the exhale ports seem to get blocked, and it becomes difficult to exhale, and again it feels like I am not getting enough air. When I am at home, there is routinely air flowing out of the exhale ports, whether I am inhaling or exhaling. When I am at high altitudes, the air flow through the diffuser stops. I have tried disconnecting the mask from the tube while I am wearing headgear, plugging the mask tube, and exhaling forcefully through the pillows, but I still get no air flow through the exhale ports. The pillow is brand new - in use for less than a week. Do you have any suggestions for dealing with these issues? Many thank for your help.

Get the Ramjet High Altitude P10 with the hood scoop.
Or some other nasal pillow that works better for you when you travel to places over 8000 feet. :D

The vents on your P10 may be blocked and need cleaning. Either get a new frame or clean the mesh with an old tooth brush/water pick. You can not generally feel the air coming out of the P10 vent as it’s very diffused
