Hi. I've been doing well with my Cpap treatment of four months. My AHI ranges between 0.5 and 2.5 or thereabouts. But this morning when I checked my machine data, it said my AHI was 12.2! I downloaded my data onto OSCAR and it said my AHI was 2.5. So that's confusing. Also, when I looked at my OSCAR data I saw that there was a period between just before 1 a.m. and 1:20 am when no breathing was detected, sometimes for a number of minutes. I have never seen that before. So I am trying to figure out what went on and what I can learn from this.
The other thing was that my CPAP machine registered a 92% mask fit - it is usually 99% or 100%.
Can you help me understand what happened?
THANKS!!
OSCAR data from last night attached.
Machine said my AHI was 12.2. What happened?

When is the last time you changed the disposable filter if you use one?
When is the last time you washed the washable filter?
Nothing computes here....at first I thought the BND was probably because of large leaks and the large leaks are brief and no where near the BND...and I thought the high AHI on the LCD screen was because of maybe a short session but you only had one session last night.
Clean your filters and if this happens again contact whomever you got the machine from. It wouldn't be impossible for one of the sensors to be failing. I can't think of anything else that would be logical that might explain this.
I do know that if the filters get clogged up that it can affect how the machine reports stuff.

Re: Machine said my AHI was 12.2. What happened?
Dear Pugsy,
Thanks so much. I used a new filter last night and the LCD panel registered an AHI of 2.2. Hoping the high reading of the night before was just a fluke, or because of the filter as you suggested.

If you have a bad night once in a while, it's not good, but it's probably not catastrophic.
Re: Machine said my AHI was 12.2. What happened?
I am inclined to lean towards the filter being the culprit.
Crimp in the hose might also be a culprit I suppose but normally when that happens we have a different looking weirdo report.
Hopefully this simple little fix will resolve the issue and you won't have anymore weirdo nights.
