2nd Oscar Report - Feeling awful

Post by jch23 » Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:54 am

Hi All,

I have been using this CPAP machine for approximately 2 months, and I have had some ups and downs. Over the past week i have had what i thought was good sleep (AHI under 1) but still felt terrible - low mood, tired, sluggish etc. I have recently switched up my diet and started to exercise more, resulting in about 17 lbs lost since middle of December. With that being said, i have noticed that the pressure has felt more like a suction when I inhale and exhale. I have also been waking up in the middle of the night a few times, really sweaty and having difficulties falling back asleep. I try to stick with a good sleep hygiene - going to bed and waking up around the same time, if i do wake up, i try and fall back asleep but if I can't in 20 mins or so, I get up and read or watch TV etc. I have noticed i am having more central Apnea's rather that OSA. My pressure is set at 9, could it be too low/high? Should I set up the autoset? Any thoughts? Please see last nights Oscar Report.

Starting to get a little frustrated and concerned. Thanks for your help!

I am no expert, but you seem to be doing very well therapy wise. What centrals you have look like they probably are SWJ. Pressure will not treat them even if they are real.
Only getting 6:15.05 hours of sleep a night would leave most of is fatigued.

You might need to get an appointment with your personal M.D and have him/her check you out. Blood work/ect.

All I have.
Others may have more opinions to add.

Good luck.

JPB

Thanks for your response JPB... I am relatively new with the CPAP, about 2 months now using it at the current settings. Is it possible that they are off? Should i try to switch to the autoset and see if that does anything? My DME won't adjust anything without a new prescription from my sleep doctor. I am not sure it is that, I am consistently under .50, but have the odd night like last night where its over 1, but still under 2, but still not feeling refreshed and what not when i wake up and through out the day.

I admit, it wasn't a great night of sleep, i was tossing and turning and felt like the machine was causing a suction like sensation, particulary when I exhale.

I had my regular physical back in December and a few other tests, everything checked out.

Hi All,
please don't start a new thread for every report. it's easier to see what you have done previously if it's all in one thread.

thank you.
