Dreamwear full mask leaks?

Post by warp3456 » Tue Jan 21, 2020 7:47 pm

Hi I am using a medium full face dreamwear mask ..I love the mask but I have to push it up to the tip of my nose to stop the small leaks around nose area. Is the mask to long from my chin to my nose? Do I need a smaller mask or should I wear a strap below the mask at the bottom of the chin to stop it slipping? Thank you. Attached photos

Your chin may be dropping when you go into deep sleep.
Many of us use a soft cervical collar to hold the chin up and neck straight to help keep the airway open.
Some use a chin strap to keep the chin up.

Can you go to your DME and try a size small?

I will have to buy a small online and try that.i shall try to hold the chin up as suggested first. This is the best mask I have ever tried..years ago I had full whole face mask but couldn't sleep on my side. I had tonsils removed palate surgery robotic tongue reduction in India. But now my apnea is back. I have no qualms with using CPAP again.

What frame size have you got?
My guess is that if it is not sitting snugly under your nose then the frame (bit over your head) is either too big, or not fit in the correct position.
The Dreamware FFM I had came with different frame sizes, have you tried them?

I'm also using the Size M frame with the Size S nasal cushion and likewise, I'm getting small leaks in the nasal area. I'm definitely not a Size S in frame size so I think I gotta play around with it since I just got it a few hours ago. Going to be following this to get some suggestions as well.

When I push it above it's normal position ie to the tip of the nose it's not to bad.

Does the soft cervical collar prevent you from leaning your head over to the left or right if you sleep on your back?

Thank you! I'll be measuring my neck height + circumference and I'll make the purchase tonight

I feel the same exact way. I believe my nasal leaks are from leaning into the pillow while laying on my back which breaks the seal. Similar situation for you? :(

If you get the right size it will certainly help.
Most will fit fine around the neck.
Be sure to get one tall enough. (not too tall)
Get a general measurement chin to chest.
Like you want your chin to be when sleeping.
