Short answer. It is somewhat more complicated than this.
The For Her model of ResMed's popular CPAP machine has a more sensitive flow algorithm that picks up Hypopneas/flow limitation better than the standard model. Often females have more Hypopneas and flow limitation than Males due to menopause or any hormonal imbalances.Jun 22, 2018

Resmed AirSense 10 Auto VS. The For Her Model ...
To be clear, I am no expert on here.
The "for her" is in additional algorithm to the regular machine. You can set it in the "regular" or the "for her" as you wish.
I tried the "for her" once and it did not work as well (for me), but I am a very manly man.

It just gives one more options. And as Pugsy says "Who doesn't want more options". (Pugsy is one of the experts)
Once you get set up (if not before) one/some of them will guide you to therapy bliss.

Good luck.

Some progress to report! I saw sleep doc today -- she pulled my info off the ResMed and in last 30 days my AHI is 2.7. She was very pleased. Yay me. If I recall, in the first sleep study it was over 27.
They also gave me the ResMed SD card...they had an extra. Forgot to ask if that will work with the Oscar stuff but in any case it will give me more info than the two smiley faces I get in the morning now

They also are changing my DME so I can go have an in-person mask fitting with the local DME. If nothing else I may ask to try the "for Her" headgear for my Medium AirTouch F20. Ditto for mask liner, esp. on the F30. Do like the memory foam of the F20 rather than the silicone of the F30. Maybe I will even ask about the brand new one! So I'm stoked about sitting down with someone to show them how stuff fits on me and see if we can do better.
So...some progress.
