Leak Rate
I have two identical Air Curve 10 vauto machines. One I use nightly at home. The other is my back up and gets used when I travel. Settings are identical. I have always noticed the leak rate on my backup machine is lower. I usually use it when I'm in vegas at my daughters house visiting. I have always figured it was lower because I was sleeping without hubby in a different bed.
This weekend we were finally able to take a trip together (first one since I've had the machines) and I noticed the same phenomenon. Just going by the leak rate reported on the machine ( I haven't imported data yet) it is significantly lower.
Same mask, same hose, the only difference is the machine. My home machine reports leaks usually at just under 20 L/min. My backup machine reports leaks at under 5L/min.
Any WAG as to why this might be ?

Re: Leak Rate
Are both machines set to the same mask type?
Try swapping the hose and mask between the two and see if the mask leak moves with the mask change.
When you look at the OSCAR leak trace, do you see considerable leaks? If you do that suggests a mask fit issue on the leaky mask.

Re: Leak Rate
I'm just throwing this out there.
Have you changed out humidifier tanks?
Maybe one is leaking just enough to make a difference?
Same hose and same mask. Not the same tank. Process of elimination.
Just a thought.

Re: Leak Rate
Do a 30 minute test on each machine while awake and you are darn sure there are zero leaks and then compare the results.
Use SleepyHead to view the results because of that little bug in OSCAR not letting a person download more than one session.
The difference might be nothing more than normal variation from some normal mask movement.

Get OSCAR
Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

I have a separate hose and mask in the bag with my spare machine, so all that's needed is to grab the bag and go.babydinosnoreless wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 11:03 amSettings are identical. I suggest you should do the same. That way you can't forget something when packing, and if something happens while away, you've got your setup at home, waiting for when you get back.

Oh I keep a spare mask and hose in the bag. I just wanted the one I have adjusted to fit and with the cozy on it so I swapped it before I left.palerider wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 1:53 pmI have a separate hose and mask in the bag with my spare machine, so all that's needed is to grab the bag and go.babydinosnoreless wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 11:03 amSettings are identical. Re: Leak Rate
The leaks seem to share similar curves and both machines register zero leaks.

There's very little to learn with Oscar, it's just better. and getting into it now will make it easier in the future, when new versions come out.

Re: Leak Rate
Actually brought my pillow with me. Lol. I don't do well with strange pillows.

I was going to try changing out the humidifier last night and do the awake test that Pugsy suggested but seem to have picked up a cold so I will probably wait for a couple of days before trying experiments.
