my personal experience is that the flex function on the dream station SUCKS. it feels like it tries to lead your breaths and ended up screwing up my breathing cycle. many people have said that EPR from ResMed is smoother.

You can see, in this pic, the way EPR varies the pressure, exactly when it does it in response to your breathing:

i still get anxiety thinking about flex. it was the sudden drop in pressure at the top of my breath that made me feel like water was entering the hose.palerider wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 2:08 pmYou can see, in this pic, the way EPR varies the pressure, exactly when it does it in response to your breathing:

Does this forum also have legit reputable people who sells cpap machines? Of course, as soon as i mentioned i wanted a Resmed, someone PM me into sale but how do i know if its a scammer or not. How in the world would one know if the seller will take the money and send u a brick at your door... Like a legit brick just to troll.. But then again im sure there are plenty of people on this fourm who are legit real and nice people who actually sells good working cpap machines and not screw one over. If you know of these angels, please advise!

To me, it is like any other online transaction. You have to be careful.
1- ask for photos of the unit including a clear picture of the model, and the actual number of run hours.
2- never pay by EMT, Western Union, or MoneyGram - there is absolutely no insurance if you do not receive anything.
3- if they are asking to pay for shipping...make sure the amount they are charging makes sense (eg. $20-40 if shipping via USPS within the states... obviously coast to coast would be on the upper end)
4- make sure the payment type has some sort of insurance for goods not showing up (personally I prefer PayPal). If using PayPal, ask for an invoice to ensure it is not a Friends and family payment.
5- don't be afraid to ask the seller for some type of backup. I often send my eBay feedback...it at least helps you know that they have somewhat of a positive history
6- if something doesn't make sense...then don't go through. That said, some sellers may not know the exact history of a machine as they were a fleet unit, bought originally on Craigslist, etc. But they should be able to confirm it is not from a smoking home and it's current condition.
7- don't fall for sob stories about needing money so they are selling it quickly. This is almost always a red flag.
8- if you do buy one, the seller should be able to provide an actual tracking number which tracks on the respectable site (USPS, etc)
9- I personally would never buy from a person with 1 post on the forum. This means they just registered to sell...it may be legit, or maybe not.

If somebody has few posts, and a recent join date then it's a risk.
A few people have mentioned Member LSAT.
He sells machines frequently, low-hour clean machines. Those who have bought from him are constantly posting positive experiences.

Re: Buying used CPAP Dreamstation auto worth the risk?
Thank you ladies and gentlemen again for sharing! You guys are angels as well. God bless you. I have reached out to LSAT. And I have been looking on craigslist as well. I really don't like how you need a "prescription" to get these machines if you want to buy them online new. I really hope that CPAP will help with my life long absence of good sleep. Please pray for me!
Re: Buying used CPAP Dreamstation auto worth the risk?
Hello again!
I was wondering if there's a way to find out the total usage hours of the Resmed Airsense 10. I'm trying to buy it off Craigslist and I initially thought that if you go to the option called "Sleep report" it'll show you the total usage hours but I guess I was wrong? I heard from someone that what it's showing is the stats for within a 30 day period. Is this correct?

Correct. You need to check out the 'Run Hours' which can be accessed by holding the home button and the round knob in for 5 seconds, and then going into the About menu.cpapnoobz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:44 pmHello again!

Not sure if this is a change on newer firmware, or possibly activated by turning Essientials to plus, but the About menu is available in the user mode settings.Cruiser1234 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:47 pmCorrect. Yes, the plus option seems to activate that option. The run hours are always available by going into the clinician menu though.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 8:17 amNot sure if this is a change on newer firmware, or possibly activated by turning Essientials to plus, but the About menu is available in the user mode settings.Cruiser1234 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 9:47 pmCorrect. Re: Buying used CPAP Dreamstation auto worth the risk?
What do you mean the plus option? It was the home button and the select (circle knob) button that brought up the settings, which had the hours didn't it? could you please provide a picture or a video if you can please? I'm about to check out one of the resmeds on craigslist today and I want to make sure I'll be able to get to the settings where i can check the total usage hours.
Thank you! and God bless.
