P30i

Post by tweeter829 » Thu Dec 05, 2019 9:08 pm

I tried a P30i nasal pillow for the last few nights, but it is making the inside of my nose raw. Is it possible to replace just the nose part with theN30i piece and continue using the rest of the headgear?

don't know the answer to that. BUT you can use lansinoh cream, which is lanolin. this will help heal and protect your nose. you'll find it in the infant care section. it's used to help heal and protect the nipples of nursing mothers.

good luck!

How many nights have you tried the P30i? I have read that they can cause irritation for a few days before some people adapt to them. My pillows were bothering me the first few nights then I switched to a large size (therapist started me on medium) and it made it much more comfortable. If your pillows are pulling in or out on nostrils then I would try the next size up or down.

To answer your question you can use an N30i attachment in your P30i headgear if you want to go that route.

Yes, you can swap to the N30i nose piece.

BUT...be sure you are not putting too much tension on the P30i when wearing it. It takes very little tension to seal. In fact, if you overtighten it will break the seal more often ( I know this from trying it!). That tension could also be very irritating to your nose! The P30i is my regular use mask now. Since It came out. When I put it on, it feels like the nose piece is too loose. But as soon as the pressure comes on it seals right up. So back off the tension a bit and try that till you find where it works best.

This.

I started with the N30i and grew to dislike it a fair bit. I'm not a huge fans of pillows, but I think the P30i is better designed. I'd follow realshelby's suggestion for a few nights first.

If it is making the inside of your nose raw you might be wearing too small pillows, move up a size, they should not be in your nostrils, but on the base.

Is this your first time using Nasal Pillows. Blisters are not uncommon, and will go away once the skin toughens up.

I have been using it for five nights. I have been using lanolin every day after the first night. I will go up a size, I thought it was supposed to go into the nostril. Thanks for all of the replies.

Update on P30i

Post by tweeter829 » Wed Jan 01, 2020 3:57 pm

I switched out the pillows to the larger size, and all is well. I am an active sleeper, and the band that goes around the back of the head would slip over my head sometimes and the entire contraption would come off of my head. I attached a Scunchi head band to the strap that goes behind the head, at the mid point, and before I put the gear on my head, I put the head band over my head all the way down to my neck, and that keeps the gear on all night. Thank you for the tips and encouragement. Happy New Years to all.

Since tweeter829 has not been around for a while, you could try sending him/her a PM.
A picture would have been nice, though . . .

I have a P30i and I think I understand what tweeter was saying. She undid the velcro attaching the back to the frame and slipped a regular old stretchy headband to the middle of the back part and then closed up the velcro. Then every time she puts the gear on, after it is all in place she stretches the headband up over her head and down over her face until it is under her chin. I can see how this could help hold the back part down where it belongs.

I could be wrong but it probably wouldn't hurt to try, especially if she doesn't see the pm you might send. Good luck!

Some members are experiencing the same problem and are wondering if you could clarify your Scunchi solution a bit.
