Feeling terribly tired despite cpap mask

Post by cpapram » Sun Dec 01, 2019 9:28 pm

Dear friends, I have been using ResMed CPAP mask for the last 3 years and this has changed my life since I have had it. But of late problems started exactly 1 month back. First symptom was I started hearing a waxing/waning noise as I breathe into the mask. This was so annoying to an extent it disturbed my sleep. So we gave the machine for checking and it came back without issues. In the meantime I used another stop gap ResMed machine. Till the time it was in repair I started developing 2 more symptoms: Constant dry mouth and extreme tiredness in the morning. The tiredness was as bad as my pre-cpap days. Now I went for Phillips Resprionics machine but the 3 symptoms have stayed and making my life worse. All this while the readings in all 3 machines are very very normal. I am meeting my Respiratory specialist in a week's time but wondered if someone can help. More than the dry mouth, the tiredness and the dizzy feeling throughout the day prevents me from functioning normal and it for sure affects my day to day life.

Thanks,
Ram

Did you also replace the mask and tubing just to eliminate any possible hardware culprits? Do you feel air coming out of the vents in front of the mask?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have replaced everything. Replaced one Resmed mask with another. Now trying Phillips NasalWear mask as well. To no avail. Reading are perfect but symptoms getting worse and worse.

Do you feel air coming out of the mask in the front where the exhausted air vents?

You should download the OSCAR sleep software and post your data so we can see what's going on. What is your AHI after a night of sleep? It should say on the machine.

not to be pedantic, but could you let us know which specific machine? it makes a difference because i've read here before that there is one make that has a known problem.

i don't know if it's yours or not. so let us know so the experts here can help you more readily.

good luck!

oh and welcome to the forum.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

yes, air is coming out of the mask and it has been the same since 3 years. AHI is less than 1.
I'll download this and post the data.

Hi Downloaded Oscar and also created a profile. Do you know how to generate data from ResMed/Phillips to be made available to Oscar?

You need a computer with a SD card reader, and then there is a option in OSCAR to read the SD card and import the data. I am not good on the specific details but someone else will probably chime in.
