Autoset RERA

Post by Geer1 » Sun Dec 01, 2019 2:41 pm

Does anyone have some autoset flagged RERAs they can post zoomed in flow data for?

I am curious as to what flow form autoset flags as a RERA.

I have never seen any official documentation as to flow rate appearance to use as a guide. Doesn't mean much though....I really haven't looked.
Being asleep is absolutely crucial to any RERA flagging. Since the machine doesn't know sleep status I take the RERA flagging with a grain of salt. Just because someone's breathing looks like the breathing of someone who had a known RERA doesn't guarantee that they were really asleep and it is a real RERA...and that's really all these machine flagged RERAs are.

I rarely have any RERA flagging. I just did a quick search and spotted one but it is obviously SWJ post arousal breathing and not a real asleep event.

Here's what I found. If I find anything that looks more real I will share it. I see evidence of arousal breathing fairly often. I have other health issues that mess with my sleep and cause me to wake often.

Remember....this machine provided data was never really meant to be used at this level of microscopic evaluation. It's far from perfect.
It's not diagnostic quality because it was never meant for diagnosing. It was meant for trends and patterns which is what most doctors go by and not a handful of some sort of event put under the microscope.

Finally had my first one flagged. I don't really see any similarities to yours though. I'm thinking mine was probably an arousal due to the leak, either bumped the mask or had a mouth leak for some reason.

Was just curious how the machine flags these, still no idea though.

Looks like post arousal SWJ flag to me.
The bigger gulp of air at 06:27:36 means a not asleep bigger breath.
Asleep until roughly 06:27:30...then the big gulp and then the irregular breathing.

Now what caused that little arousal....that's the million dollar question but it doesn't appear to be something related to the flow rate (airway) which is nice and boring right before that gulp.
