Great initial results but didn't last

Post by JustStopsBreathing » Tue Nov 19, 2019 1:00 am

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea this year after who knows how long of feeling horrible. I got the machine in June, after 3-4 weeks to adjust, I started feeling amazing, like I was myself again. I thought that was the end of it. But then in maybe early August I started getting a bit worse. I think in the grand scheme my symptoms are minor—I'm certainly better than I was in January when things were at their worst, and I no longer wake up screaming "Help me" so that's pretty cool— but I'm waking up tired every morning no matter how long I sleep, I can't make it through the night without waking up at least once, and I just don't feel like I'm cognitively firing at 100%. At first I tried bumping up the min and max pressures from 5-10 to 6-11. That helped a bit. I later narrowed it to 6-10 after reading some around the forum and wiki, which is where I'm at now. I'm using an Airsense 10 Autoset.

I realize my numbers by all accounts are good—my AHI is usually under one and rarely breaks 2—but the way I've been feeling just doesn't reflect it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

Do you take any medications of any kind (even OTC) and if so, what are they?

Any other physical or mental health issues going on?
