Been a CPAP user for 2 years now. Suddenly within the last 4-5 weeks, I am waking up with a super dry mount (and throat). My inside cheeks, tongue. etc are litterally stuck together in the morning.
I am well aware that the usual cause is mouth breathing. I have been using the 2" tape since this began, but hasn't seemed to help. Even went back from my Swift to my full face mask. Same results. Experimented with different things, including some of my prescription meds to see if they could be causing. Tried the Biotene and other non-alcohol mouthwashes.
So far nothing seems to help. And seems to be getting worse.
I am on a Remstar Auto C-flex. Pressure around 11-12 most nights. Primary mask is a Swift, which I have been using most of the first 2 years.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Greg

Humidifier
One more thing, I have tried adjusting my humidity setting. Provider set it to 3, and I have raised it to 5. Heater is working, as I have condensation in my water reservoir each morning.

gswilder,
Are you swishing the Biotene mouthwash around in your mouth for at least 30 seconds and not rinsing afterwards?
If you are still having problems, perhaps it would be a good idea to ask your dentist.

It sounds like you've tried just about everything...
Have you started any new medications? I had really bad dry mouth symptoms from the Wellbutrin XL I was taking. Before I realized that was the problem, I tried all of the Biotene products, etc.
Do you drink enough fluids during the day? I make sure now to drink two liters of water a day. That does seem to help with the saliva production.
When I wear the full face mask and my mouth is open, I do still have a fairly dry mouth (but I am also still taking the Wellbutrin). I don't have these issues when I wear the ComfortLite 2 nasal interface.
The only advice my DME had was to keep a glass of water by the bed. (Not a good solution because of the cat.)

I do drink a lot of water each day. Probably 120 ounces per day on average.
I thought about the medicine thing. I do take several things, especially for sinus/allergy problems. However I haven't changed anything in a year or so. I take Zyrtec, Nasonex, and Mucinex.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks..
