Hi, Violet - I'll be interested to know if you're able to work the kinks out of the Brevida mask. I just got one yesterday. I've been using the ResMed P10 pillows and had a fairly reliable system figured out to keep a good seal, but it involves using a chin strap to keep my yap shut, as well as either tape or a Scunci headband over my lips to stop mouth leak. I finally got it so that I have mostly 0 leakage, but it's a bit uncomfortable to the nostrils and septum - always a little sore. So when I checked out the Brevida, I thought that might be a good solution for me.
The first night was pretty much a bust, though. I went into it with high hopes, but it was like starting CPAP all over again from scratch - struggling to get the right amount of tightness on the straps to prevent leaks, but not enough to cause discomfort. I finally gave it up after about four and a half hours of essentially non-sleep. One of the features that attracted me to this product was that it was billed as almost completely silent - that's a big thing for my wife and me. I found it to be kind of noisy - but maybe that's just from not using it enough yet to get it figured out. Pretty disappointing, but I don't want to give up without giving it a really good trial - it took a while to get the P10 where it works, too.
Anyway, please continue to update on how it's going for you. I hope you have good luck with it.

Still really hating the Brevia. Can't scratch my nose without unseating the seal, and it's a PITA to re-position on the fly at night. The clips on the side holding the mask dig into my cheeks. My ear is sore and my nostrils are, too. In addition, the silicone that comprises the nasal pillows is very soft, which I get is supposed to be kinder to one's face, but has the effect of inverting the pillows so they are hard to pull out into the proper distended position.
Have given up, and returned to my old rig with considerable relief.

Wow, that's a drag! I've tried the Brevia another time or two, but still not feeling the love any more than you are. I really would like to find the way to get it to work for me because I really like some of the design features, like the simple hooks for connecting the headgear to the mask and adjusting the straps that way. I agree the nasal pillows are softer, with the upside and downside that you mentioned. But the main thing for me is that I still don't think it's all that quiet. At least, so far it hasn't been great for me in that regard.Violet West wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:01 amStill really hating the Brevia. I, too, reverted back to what I was using, ResMed P10 pillows. They're no picnic, either, because I have to supplement them with some method of preventing mouth leak, which is a big pain in the butt - but at least I feel like I've got it somewhat under control with that mask. I should probably go to a full-face mask, but I'm not sure that would fix it either - again, because of inability to get a consistently good seal and keep the noise down.....but soldier on we must.....
Thanks for the input. I'll let you know if I'm able to beat the Brevida into submission....

Go with the Bleep. You wont be sorry. Once you get the hang of putting the ports on, its a really quick assembly and as there is no straps, nothing there to deal with.Violet West wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:01 amStill really hating the Brevia. What I am using now is pretty decent the Resmed AirFit P10. It’s a simple nasal pillow mask that just goes under the nose and over your head. I also have used the mirage ads.
