Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet

Post by Makulu1 » Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:44 am

I am using a Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet, been in use for 6 months . Over the last few days it has started to”Whistle “ during the night ,the noise is coming from the machine, not the mask. It is difficult to stop the noise, can anyone suggest a possible solution.!!!!

Make sure the humidifier is firmly seated.
Look inside where the water chamber goes and make sure the gaskets aren't crimped.

Oh my, my last machine was replaced because of a whistle, the new one whistles too. I have switched out the tanks so not sure which is the "newer" one. going to a local DME if to get a new tank. Never even thought about the gasket being worn or damaged. I should have though as my gas cap seal was damaged and I had to take my car to a dealer over an hour away to have them diagnose my car because that caused all many of the safety features not to work. Pugsy you ROCK!

I just got a new AirSense 10. My last one, after 5 years of use, was the best of four machines. A couple of months prior to getting the new one, I had to slide the water tank in and out a few times to get it to seal. It could be fully inserted and not seal, but working it in and out a few times got the seal back.

There are seals inside the machine where the tub meets the machine...They can be replaced.

Had to have my AirSense 10 replaced due to whistling. Couldn't stop it from doing that any other way, and it prevented me from getting to sleep, obviously. Hopefully that won't be the case with yours, but since it should still be under warranty, there's no cost for replacement. Used my "travel" CPAP while the AirSense 10 was being replaced. The AirSense 10 that I have now doesn't do that (yet). My wife is getting an Airsense 11, curious how that's going to go, her first CPAP. Hopefully her AirSense 11 will be trouble-free.

Oh wow. I think this old topic from 2019 has possibly solved my ‘middle of the night problem’.

I’ve had an intermittent whistling problem and have replaced the hose and headgear recently because I thought there must be a leak.

Just found this topic about the humidifier and have found a spare one from my old machine and swapped it out and it seems the sound has gone. Hopefully now I can sleep and check in the morning if I have really solved the problem.

Thanks to everyone who commented in this thread.
