Mask fit %

Post by Dispatcher714 » Sat Oct 26, 2019 10:22 am

Hello,

I'm a new CPAP user and I've been doing well with my machine so far (dreamstation with an amara view mask). I've been using it for 32 days with days of 4 plus hours of use at 27. My AHI fluctuates from 10-2 but mostly is staying in the 5-8 range which seems much better than what it was in my sleep test. My main question is about my mask fit percentage. It ranges from 88% to 100% with most of the time in the mid to high 90's. Should I be concerned that it isn't always at 100%?

Please fill out your equipment profile - https://www.cpaptalk.com/ucp.php?i=prof ... pment_info

You are going to need to use the free OSCAR software to get an accurate answer. We need to know your machine model to check if it is data-capable.

Thank you for your reply, Granny! Profile filled out. I appreciate the assistance I'm just looking for what the acceptable range for mask fit % is. I think I'm overthinking it and making too big a deal of it.

A good answer cannot be given without analyzing a little data with OSCAR (See the Sticky at the top of the forum index page.)

If you want to keep it simple, just keep a little journal of how you judge your sleep and how you feel the next day (Alertness, excess sleepiness, good energy, excess fatigue).

But, I am concerned about your nights of AHI 10. OSCAR is an invaluable tool to see what is going on and optimize treatment. Most of the forum regulars will not do without OSCAR.

It's up to you how much you value excellent CPAP treatment.
DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine with Heated Humidifier
You have a very good machine.

. . . overthinking . . .
Honey, you have no idea how far overthinking can go.
The fact you are aware of the possibility is evidence you are sensible enough to handle it.

The AHI is concerning me too, but I was told mine was near like a 100 and I don't get many of the 10 days (like 2 or 3 overall) for the most part I seem to be hovering at 8 on the high end to 2 on the low end with a lot of 5-6 days. I'll give that computer program a shot when I get home.

If you have questions about the software or anything else, please stick to this thread. The good experts will then be able to see your history easily.

Take care!
