I am trying to make the F30 work for me; it seems like its features should make it the best available full face mask for me.
However, when I wake up, the left nostril is painful--on the bottom front tip of left nostril and on the bottom ridge of the left nostril close to face on the ear side of the nose.
The right nostril is unaffected.
Anyone else had this problem?
Any ideas?
Anyone custom cut the silicone cushion?

I have enlarged the nostril holes for more air, by trimming them with sharp scissors. I’m not sure how that relates to your problem though - I just wanted more air. My first thought is that you may have the straps too tight - maybe try loosening the strap over the top of your head a little.
FWIW, my fiancée tried the F30, but even the small cushion was a little too big for her nose. We kept tightening the straps through the night, but to stop the leaks it had to be pretty tight. Oh well, back to the F20.

I'm an F30 user and I love it. The upper straps seem to want to be about 1/4 of an inch looser than the bottom straps. Measure from the tip of the velcro strap to the seam. My upper straps are right at an inch and the lowers are about 3/4" from the seam. I recommend using a tape measure and permanent marker to make belt loops on all four straps so that you have a point of reference for making small adjustments or just need to reset and start over. F30 does not want to be overtightened. I'll post a link to a write up I did on this with pics. I feel a little silly making a point of this because I feel it's basic but I never see anyone else talk about it.
In the link posted below I talk about tuning the headgear and also (I had forgotten about this!) making the transition to the Amara View headgear and ditching the F30 (only talking about the straps, not the mask) because it just works better, more comfortable to wear. You can find replacement headgear (I'm about to have to this as well) on Amazon for around $18.

I am having the same problem, except my pain is on the right side in the same exact spot.

I was able to see how the F30 mask silicone nose-part was fitting to my nostrils by using a hand-held mirror to look right up the breathing hole in the mask. It was a surprisingly clear view.
You can almost do it (but uncomfortably) by tipping your head way back and looking into a bathroom wall mirror.
This can give you a real idea about where to cut.

Eeeeew!
Necrophilia is so NASTY!
Universal solution--if it hurts, stop doing it.
Try a different mask, like a large percentage of the rest of us.
It is what it is.
Some masks were only designed to fit a very small group--others fit most--sort of.
