UARS Diagnosis - CPAP Recommendations?

Post by dannydawiz » Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:50 pm

Hello guys. My name is Danny. After 10 years of depression, adhd, anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue, headaches, acid reflux, and chest pain I've finally been diagnosed with UARS by an ENT doctor here on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. I live in a city named West Covina.

When I showed up to the ENT he stuck a tube down my nose and told me that my lower jaw is most likely what's causing my UARS. He also told me that my septum was deviated slightly to the right and on the medical records it also says (enlarged turbinates)

The doctor referred me to a dentist to try out an oral device which will move my jaw forward while I'm asleep. I hear that CPAP is generally more successful though and because of that I wanted to look into purchasing one of them.

My question to you guys is what's a good cpap machine that I should look into buying? I've found a couple of Resmed Airsense 10's on craigslist/offerup but I wanted to check here with you guys before making the jump to purchase. Do you guys think CPAP is effective for UARS or should I just forget about it and get MMA surgery?

I’m no expert, but I think many here would clarify that that you want an Airsense 10 “Autoset”.

I can't comment on the surgery route.

On PAP option, though, I strongly recommend a Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto. They can be found for pretty cheap on craigslist/offerup, and will give you much more flexibility to treat UARS than a CPAP.

Also, LSAT is selling a VAuto on this forum.

Hello, Danny. You've been going through a lot! Have you had a polysomnography sleep study done? That could provide valuable insight into what's going on during your sleep. If you are going to go ahead and buy a machine, I second the recommendation of a Vauto.
