I've been using the machine for a few nights now. Each of the nights below is with the AirFit P10 with medium pillow. I'm liking the mask so far, but I wish the headgear was a bit larger. I have a big head and it's a bit tight. Is there any solution people use for this?

One things I've found is that if I have to wake up to use the bathroom, I don't always put the mask right back on. Sometimes I will lay down for a bit before putting it on. Any recommendations for improvement here would be much appreciated.

The headgear will eventually stretch out but you can accelerate it somewhat by putting it on something like a basketball or soccer ball during the day. If it never stretches out enough because you just have a big head...there are ways of doing surgery and adding in a strip of elastic or even a different mask that has a more traditional adjustable headgear. Tension adjustments are available by how far you space the 2 straps but for some people with large heads...not enough room for enough spacing.

For this

make yourself a rule to never lie down without the mask being on because it's too easy to fall asleep and not have any of the warning signs that it's about to happen.

I have been on cpap over 10 years now and I still put the mask on or hook up while sitting up on the side of the bed.
I know I can't be trusted to not fall asleep without it if I lay down and think to myself "I will hook up in a minute".

That's exactly what I do. Sometimes middle of the night me isn't as trustworthy as wide awake me. I'm working on it though.

Make it a habit at the beginning of the night to follow a set routine and eventually the less trustworthy middle of the night you should just get lazy and rely on habit and not good intentions.

Even now with my using the Bleep mask which involves me having to look in the mirror in the bathroom to put it on....I sit on the side of the bed and attache the mask short hose to the long hose while sitting up. I know I can't be trusted to "do it in a minute" once I lay down.

I rarely get up in the middle of the night though and go back to bed. Usually if I wake up in the middle of the night there won't be any going back to sleep for me. Usually means I got woke up by something that isn't easily fixed and it won't be so easy to go back to sleep.

Seems obvious to me... put the mask right back on.

Sorry, I didn’t word that properly. I was looking for advice on my OSCAR data, not for putting the mask back on.

Looks like there are some short periods where you need more than the 16 max pressure....so you might just open it up. It won't go there unless it has a good reason but I doubt that what little time it gets pegged out is going to be that big of a deal breaker for you in terms of anything.

I would look more to increasing the minimum a little before I worried about the maximum. Often when the minimum is more optimally set the machine won't end up needing to go so high anyway.

The one issue I have with raising the minimum pressure is when I first put the mask on I feel like I am getting too much air - and that's with a 10 minute ramp starting at 6. Should I up the minimum and leave the ramp as is?

Leave the ramp at 6 and use it....just increase the minimum for when you are hopefully asleep.
If it takes longer than 10 minutes....increase the ramp time.
Remember.....gotta get to sleep first before anything else matters.
