What Causes an Increase in AHI?

Post by elaine10 » Thu Oct 03, 2019 9:40 am

Hi. Have been using Resmed S9 APAP for more than a month now. Have noticed that AHI has recently been at 1 to 2 compared to less than 1 last month. It's pressure is set at 10 to 20. There is also few mask leakage. May I ask what could possibly cause the AHI to rise? Thanks!!!

Mask leakage for one thing....no one has the same AHI night after night. The changes you mention are not really significant. How are you sleeping?
You could try raising the minimum pressure to 11.

Need to see a detailed report.
See what kind of events are increasing as well as when they are occurring. More pressure won't fix central apneas.

But that little of an increase is insignificant though...no matter what kind of events.
