Alternative for Cervical collar?
Alternative for Cervical collar?
I am using the Resmed Airfit F30 full face mask and sleep on my back. It is the only full face mask of the many I have tried that stays sealed through the night. When my head drops as I fall asleep, the mask seal breaks. To solve this problem, I have been using a cervical collar which works well, except that it is hot in the summer. Are there any specific pillows that would help to keep my head from dropping towards my chest? If not, I'll just keep using the collar, but I was hoping there might be a little more comfortable solution. I tried the McKenzie pillow roll, but it hurts my neck. Thank you for your help.

"The Eliminator" is very similar to "Dr Dakota". It is cooler than a regular cervical collar, but the foam is fairly stiff. I have two of them. I removed the foam from one (it has a zipper) and filled it with buckwheat hulls. I still need to get someone to make a liner from less-stretchy fabric, but it works. It's cooler and more comfortable, though not quite as effective.

I prefer a cervical collar, but here is a reference for the O.P. - https://www.amazon.com/Eliminator-Sleep ... hpc&sr=1-2ragtopcircus wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:35 am"The Eliminator" is very similar to "Dr Dakota". Wouldn't the buckwheat hulls make it quite heavy? I'm asking this because I have a buckwheat hull pillow and it's much heavier than normal pillows.ragtopcircus wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:35 am"The Eliminator" is very similar to "Dr Dakota". The collar is much smaller than a pillow, and the foam is fairly dense. I haven’t noticed the weight difference, and I’m not even sure which is heavier.Holden4th wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 2:27 amWouldn't the buckwheat hulls make it quite heavy? Re: Alternative for Cervical collar?
The collar is probably better suited for whacking (ummm, I mean waking) a snoring spouse, except that would historically and primarily be me ....
