My point with my questions was to verify if those stated compliance requirements were really from the insurance company or the DME simply making it up and telling another lie.
4 hours a night for 90 nights is really an unusual insurance requirement but I have seen DMEs lie about it to put the fear of god in people.

I don't like being lied to and for that reason I would verify with the insurance company directly.

The most common requirement mimics Medicare's compliance which is of course at least 4 hours a night for 70% of 30 consecutive nights and they have 90 nights to meet that requirement.
Precisely.

I mis-stated, in an effort to simplify -- they did say the 70% of the time, although I understood them to be telling him 70% of 90 days. I acknowledge that it's possible they said what you said, and we mis-interpreted it.

Just a note.. medical equipment is generally not counted against your bag limit, so don't worry about carrying on that CPAP travel bag. I've even carried distilled water in the CPAP bag without issue.
We're not flying. We're driving to dog shows.

Or, you could do what many truck drivers who have a machine in their truck, and one at home do..

take in both SD cards and say "figure it out". :D
That thought has a certain amount of merit.

I don't believe that insurance requires you to use *that* machine... rather usually, that it requires you to be using A machine... I would clarify directly with his insurance, and not pay any attention to anything your doctor or DME says.

Who told you 4 hours a night for 90 nights?
Your insurance company or the DME equipment supplier?
DME equipment supplier. We have also been told that the information via the modem goes directly to the doctor,
That is, how you say, a lie.

The data goes to the manufacturers cloud storage, and DMEs and/or some doctors (and users) can pull that down.

Have you considered the merits of reading what I actually wrote instead of what you think I said?
We've never seen any evidence of DH doing that.

If I have, and my husband has, a travel case with everything in it, identical to the set-up by our bedsides, there's no need for "a list." EVERYTHING is in the bag. You just grab the bag and go.

When we travel, we have my mobility scooter, two ARB car freezers, 3 suitcases, 2 CPAP cases, 2 kitchen boxes (which contain, among other things, 2 good sized extension cords), a bed step, 2 folding tables to set CPAPs on if the night stands are not suitable, 4 dog crates, bag of dog crate gear, and two dogs. Yes, there CAN be a bag limit, that being how much you can stuff into a Grand Caravan.

You sound like me going to my cat shows. I don't have quite that much stuff. I do have a second complete cpap setup that I have fully packed at all times. It even has spare filters and a spare cushion.) The extra extension cord is in the luggage (stays there between trips). My cat carriers serve as a cpap table if the night stand won't work. For my cats, I have 2 cat carriers, a litter box crate, extra litter for longer trips. a crate with cat food supplies, a crate with swiffer and folding vacuum cleaner. I have my luggage, a bag that has the cpap bag and a back massager, and a duffle bag that carries a blanket and pillow. I also travel with a large crate that carries a full size printer/scanner and spare ink tanks. And then there are all my photograph[hy and vendor supplies. Oh, and that grand caravan. Mine is 22 years old. For longer trips, I get to use my mom's newer grand caravan. But my goal is to get a newer (but used) full size van, preferably one with a high top. The grand caravan simply isn't large enough. I always have to decide what I need to leave behind because 1) I like to see out the back, and 2) I tend to come home with more than I took with me.

Last September, I drove from Washington to Florida and back with my mom and 3 cats (and all our supplies). I almost left a case of water at the hotel in Florida as I wasn't sure it would fit. I had that van packed so full that I had it piled to the ceiling with things wedged in tightly. Part of that was bringing back a huge suitcase and a few other items for two people who had to fly. They were charged $250 for that suitcase to go there. And I had to drive through their town in Idaho on my way home.

My goal is to obtain a medium RV. Then we can put the travel CPAPs and dog crates and etc. in it. We travel with the car freezers (ARBs are GOOD. Not cheap, but good -- I got mine with credit card points) because of my food sensitivities. Fast food is right out for me.

Yes, I also like being able to see out the back -- I've made my load-meister husband redo a packing job if I can't. And yes, I would take someone's suitcase with me to save them $250.

We are mostly doing Barn Hunts now, but we did travel a good bit to get my Harper his AKC Grand Championship. He's also the first Standard Dachshund in the US and Canada to achieve the Master Barn Hunt Champion X3 title. Here's his picture.
