Normal Noise?

Post by tsduke » Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:08 am

When I'm trying to fall asleep or fall back to sleep I hear an odd noise when not inhaling. Even more if I neither inhale or exhale for a bit.

Is this normal?

Here's a short clip. Listen close during the quieter parts after the inhale completes.

Have you checked the seal around the humidifier cover...slight leak?

I haven't really checked much yet. Wasn't sure what to look at. It sounds to me like the backup alert sound large trucks have...not loud, but faintly there in the background enough to annoy me.

Use Back-up Noise to mask the noise.

This is what I do. It seems my machine likes to sometimes make noises and sometimes not based on inhaling or exhaling. I use a white noise app on my phone. It covers the rhythm of pressure going up and down through the hose with a STEADY sound. With the App I set it to go for 3 hours. That's enough for me to get to asleep and then it will shut off, I should hopefully be sleeping like a baby by then!

What white noise app do you use?

Hey, sorry for the long time without a reply. The app I use is called https://apps.apple.com/us/app/white-noi ... d292987597. It has a ton of free settings but you can upgrade for others. The main sound I use is "Brown Noise". For me I need something steady that won't be up and down. Like a thunderstorm with different BOOMS will irritate me.
