Camping with a CPAP

I have a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP. I'm planning a 7 day tent camping trip with no power available. Anyone have any ideas how to either provide portable power or other alternatives?

From there you could hook up any DC power source that's roughly 12-24V. Wouldn't recommend using your car battery though.

The above mentioned DC supply, or the Resmed version ($90 but known quality and high efficiency) is essential to running from a battery. Which battery to pick is the real question. The AirSense pump is a power hog - about 8 amp-hours a night so a full week is 56 amp-hours. You would probably want a 80 to 100 amp-hour battery. This is out of the affordable range for lithium, so you'll want a lead-acid deep cycle battery. A traditional flooded "marine" battery can be had for under $100 (but make sure it is labeled "deep cycle"); a better choice is the newer AGM style which would be closer to $200 but perfectly safe, even if it rolls around in the trunk. Whatever the choice, you can add a cigarette socket adapter and a small charger (I like BatteryTender brand). Details are in the link in my signature.

If you were think of getting a second pump for travel/backup now would be the time. The basic ResMed AirStart or older Resmed S9 pumps or any Respironic pump (series 50, 60, or Dreamstation) would be a good choice - they use 4-5 amp-hours a night.
