I'm asking a very basic question here. I did run a search on line, checked the ResMed manual and didn't find an answer, so here goes:
When I run "Fit Mask" when going to sleep, after it fits my mask, will it then automatically take me into the Ramp setting that's set for me and start my nightly sleep session? I would assume it would.
Second question: If the mask does not fit, does it show the red mask and then what does it do?
I'm hoping I can just run Fit Mask and let it run through it's process figuring IT WILL take me into the Ramp setting and into my sleep time. Thanks.

Common practice is to exit mask fit, and then turn the machine on to start treatment.Viraj3474 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 4:47 pmI'm asking a very basic question here. I did run a search on line, checked the ResMed manual and didn't find an answer, so here goes:

As to your second question, it doesn't "do" anything other than tell you your mask fit is unacceptable.

I don't think it will do the ramp portion if it goes from mask fit to treatment. The mask fit function will run for three minutes, then you will go straight from the max pressure your machine is set for to the regular treatment pressure without the ramp.

Re: Question on the "Fit Mask" on ResMed AirSense10
I only use the mask fit feature when testing out a new model of mask.
It is independent of regular operation.
As my headgear loosens and silicone softens,
I observe the leak rate on the display each morning.
I do not use ramp. It delays therapy, and I need my sleep.

Re: Question on the "Fit Mask" on ResMed AirSense10
I purchased a Padacheek liner a week ago and now a chin strap. I’m want to make sure the mask fits well with these two new additions and it’s taking time. I thought it would be a nice shortcut if I could go right from the “Mask Fit” into the treatment, eliminating the general start-up. Picking up on your comment, I ran “Mask Fit” and got a good fit and stopped it by hitting “Start” and turning the machine on. But. . .
Second question:
What if I wake up an hour or more into a treatment with a need to take off the headgear and mask and rearrange the chin strap? After fixing the chin strap, I would want to run the “Mask Fit” again and then “Start” again. Will the hours I slept be erased? I think they are erased. That happened a couple of weeks ago. I got credited for 45 minutes of sleeping that night opposed to more than six hours of actual sleep I really had that night. The clinical manual doesn’t address “Mask Fit” in detail. What does?
Re: Question on the "Fit Mask" on ResMed AirSense10
Nothing is ever erased from the machine unless you go specifically into the "erase data" section of the menu and even then it will require confirmation before it erases anything.
Now what it shows on the LCD screen as to usage....any number of reasons why it only shows a short night or sleep session.

Re: Question on the "Fit Mask" on ResMed AirSense10
I will have to hold off asking questions until I can run a software report on my sleep therapy. I need to arrange a block of time to do that. There is a procedure that covers all that detailed on this forum somewhere. Thanks.
