Replace nasal cushions $$ rant
Replace nasal cushions $$ rant
Wow! Looking for additional dreamware nasal cushion and the major cpap sites are ridiculous in price. 1 cushion nearly 40% of the price of a full mask replacement.
I see them on ebay and Amazon for $11-15. Hope they are legit because $41 is a joke!

Re: Replace nasal cushions $$ rant
I have purchased several different items on eBay with no problem. The on line sellers are bound by their contracts with the manufacturers to sell at retail prices only. I can't prove it, but I suspect much of the stuff on eBay was paid for by insurance and then sold by the recipient. If I took all of the supplies I could get through my insurance, I could not have room to store all of it. We use things until they absolutely have to be replaced. I recently replaced both of our mask cushions and they were well over a year old. With our insurance we could get two cushions a month.

Oh, you can count on it. People selling stuff that their DME shipped to them whether they need it or not...or selling unwanted sizes when more than one size comes in a package.Okie bipap wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:46 pmI can't prove it, but I suspect much of the stuff on eBay was paid for by insurance and then sold by the recipient.
Also...some of those EBay sellers are either online DMEs or even brick and mortar stores selling out the back door.
I used to get filters from a guy on EBay that had a cpap online DME type of store.
You know they are making money even at the EBay reduced prices.
It's all legit stuff with most of it coming in original packaging that is sealed. Exception being of course mask packages that come with 3 sizes of something and the package gets broken up. It they say new sealed...it's real easy to see if it's a OEM package or not.
I don't think there is a big market for counterfeit cpap products.

Re: Replace nasal cushions $$ rant
$41 for a 2" cushion is more like price gouging than retail IMO.
Re: Replace nasal cushions $$ rant
The online cpap supply places like cpap.com are required by their contracts with the manufacturer to post MSRP.
It is what it is....it's the manufacturer behind it.
Example...Respironics requires that they post MSRP but will allow a discount and that's why you see "call for price" on a lot of their stuff.
ResMed on the other hand won't allow discounting from their MSRP at all. If you see a sale on a ResMed product you can be sure that ResMed instigated it.
The contracts that places like cpap.com enter into with these companies will restrict what they can do. Like they can't ship any ResMed or Respironics product outside the USA.
So if you want to blame someone for the higher prices...start with the manufacturer and their MSRP that these places are forced to use.

All medical pricing is price gouging.
Find one thing that isn't. I dare you.

Happiest day for me was when we lost DME coverage. I never, never, never, ever, ever, ever have to deal with Crapria again. I get masks and supplies on Amazon and they are fine.

What size do you need? I have 2 large, 1 small and one medium wide. You can have them for the cost of postage. When I buy a new complete headgear they include all sizes which seems silly and wasteful.

Kojack, Rather than revive an old thread, look for THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE thread.
Not just for pillows, pal.
Your offer will be more easily found there.
