balloon sinuplasty?

Anybody tried this...

"Patient, Doctor Call New Surgery Good News For Sinus Sufferers

Runny nose, red eyes, and sinus pressure are the symptoms millions of Americans feel.

Sometimes they're from allergies, sometimes they aren't. They can actually signal serious sinus infections.

...

Surgery was not the first option. ... a newer procedure called "balloon sinuplasty." It has similarities to a procedure performed on the heart.

Less invasive than older methods, the balloon sinuplasty procedure used a small balloon on a wire that inflates inside the sinus cavities.

Appelblatt carefully opened up Breipohl's sinuses, restructuring the blocked nasal passage, which is a section that can become infected.

Three weeks later, Breipohl is breathing easier.

?I do feel good,? said Breipohl. ?I am optimistic that, because the cavities are open, I won't have to go through another round of antibiotics.?

He said recovery was easy. It was an outpatient procedure and Breipohl was back at work in six days.

While it has been less than a month since the surgery, experts said the prospects are good for patients who have the procedure. The American Academy of Otolaryngology's Head & Neck Surgery Foundation reported a small clinical study had good results with patients six months after the procedure. Of course, not every procedure is right for every patient. So talk with your doctor about other treatments before jumping into surgery."
