myair app

Post by Japparis » Fri Aug 16, 2019 11:28 am

Yesterday was my first day with my machine. I took a nap and my info recorded correctly. I went to sleep last night and got up this morning. The time from my nap was added to the time from my sleep. Should I have done something after the nap? Am I supposed to shut the machine off? Thanks for your help.

You don’t need to do anything. Everything happens automatically. If you’ve had a nap, then you must expect to see the time of the nap added to the time of usage during the night.

Thank you. I thought each event would be entered separately. So ANY sleep in that 24 hour time period is lumped into one "report", right?

Yes, I think so. In order to get more detailed view of your sleep data you need a program named OSCAR. (But OSCAR also presents the data per day, so I’m not sure if it’s much different in that sense.)

OSCAR shows each session of sleep in the daily report. While the report is for the entire day, you can highlight an individual session and see what the AHI is for that session if you want to.

ResMed records time from Noon to Noon...You can get more complete information from the Sleep Report on your machine's screen.

MyAir gives the bare MINIMUM information--but jazzes it up--like in preschool.
The sleep report gives loads of info on the screen--especially when you set essentials to "plus".
For the most info, download OSCAR.
It is more than your DME (dummy) can possibly understand.

I have the essentials set on plus. I want to download OSCAR, but I keep forgetting to buy the darn SD card. They didn't give me one with the machine. They said I wouldn't need it! 🤔

The DME probably has sd cards for sale--at very inflated prices.
Guess where they came from . . . (Stolen out of cpap machines before delivery)
Hit the nearest discount store for yours.

My DME sold me the SD Card that came with the machine for $34 (CDN).

I noticed the charge when I submitted the my CPAP to insurance. At the time I didn't know better, they take advantage of that.

The DME may have made a few extra bucks on my initial sale, but it has cost them more since then. Since learning about their shady practices, I have purchased:
  • 1 P30i mask
  • 1 N30i mask
  • 3 P10 masks
  • 3 p10 pillows
  • 2 heated hoses
  • 2 humidifier tanks
  • 12 filters
Not from them. Price wise doesn't matter where I buy them as insurance covers them, but they won't get a dime from me.

So? buy it now, it'll arrive in the mail in a couple days.

That's a great description. And every single day they say "That's a great score! You're well on your way to improving your health." Unless you score a 100, in which case they say "Excellent results, Japparis! As you start to see the benefits in your life, you'll never look back." So they pretty much talk to you like you're in preschool, too.

Also, they start sending you emails every few days which are pretty much useless. I'm with palerider--get on Amazon now and order yourself a cheap SD card. It might say in your user manual that it's only safe to use the ResMed SD card that came with the machine (it does in mine), but I wouldn't worry about that. If you want to take advantage of the wealth of help available here, you'll need to post your OSCAR results
