After reading this thread, I ordered some XyliMelts. The first day I used one and it helped some. Last night I used two as recommended and it worked very well. They don't last all night, but my dry mouth normally isn't a problem closer to morning for some reason; so these are my solution. Thanks so much for the recommendation.

I intend to reduce the humidity when the xylimelts arrive.
But, the point is, you may not even need the Xylimelts if you turn down your HH settings.
Do you do nasal cleansing before bedtime? If not, you may want to try that.
Can you (normally) breathe through your nose? If not, you may want to try nasal cleansing before bedtime.
Do you or have you tried to train your tongue to stay to the roof of your mouth while you sleep? If not, that may help.

Just read this about training ones tongue to stay on the roof of mouth. Mine does this and causes severe headaches, have been trying to keep it from pressing so hard against upper pallet. Why is it best to be on top.....of mouth??

It's an 'easy' way to block leaks for those who can do it... but many can't.

this is a "no go" for me. i have an incredibly high arch on the roof of my mouth. just don't have enough tongue to fill it. i guess.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I don't think I have a high arch on the roof of my mouth, but I had UPPP surgery over twenty years ago, and I suspect that affects my ability to block the air with my tongue. I have tried several different nasal pillow masks and have it is not worth the effort required to train my tongue to stay in place all night. Even when I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea around 1996, I could not use a nasal mask, and that was the only mask the sleep lab had available when I was tested. I am not sure what other masks were available at that time, but the tech who did my sleep study suggested I go for the surgery if I could. My sleep apnea symptoms (snoring, stop breathing when sleeping, excessive daytime sleepiness, etc.) went away for about fifteen years. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea again in 2014 and have been using a machine ever since.

I don't know what that is, however I always thoroughly blow my nose before bedtime, in fact I blow my nose quite a lot as I hate having a runny nose.
google "neti pot". some folk use this, some don't.

i'm in the don't use camp.

not judging anyone, but i can't bring myself to do it.
I looked at it - I'm too squeamish for that.
