slightly OT: foam cervical collars

Post by zonker » Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:21 am

i've noticed that for me, a cervical collar last roughly two months.

it's pretty integral to my sleep routine. it helps to keep my jaw up and helps to keep my airway open. so when it starts to lose what firmness it has, i will notice that my ahi will start to rise. then when put on a new one, the ahi starts to lower again.

i was wondering. for those of you use a cervical collar, how long does yours last before you replace it?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I have set up automatic delivery every two months from Amazon for ours. I just change them out every two months.

Mine lasts about six months, but I use a firm foam collar. Firm will hold up longer than soft.

It could also be that a small person like me is not as rough on foam as a big galoot like you, you Big Galoot.

I have had one for about six months. (use it every night)
Still working fine for me.
It is a 4.5 inch with a notch for my chin,TOROS-GROUP Ergonomic Cervical Collar/Neck Support Brace / 100% - Cotton Liner - Neck 4½" Beige.

I have tried not using it, and AHI goes up.

I also suit up much like you.
Take away any one of the combo and AHI goes up.

I adapted very fast to my get up and do not think I could sleep very well without. :)

Looks like the mother of all foam collars. How long does it take for your ears to return to normal position?

Gives me a very attentive look.
The "I am listening to you look" I always wanted. :D

Yes!

I am not married so I do not get as much use as some could. :(
It comes in handy when forced to listen to some blabbermouth I can not avoid. :D

I simply turn my hearing aids down, or remove the batteries, and no one's the wiser. Of course, my wife can tell, and she will tell me to turn my hearing aids up. :P

Just say "yes dear" and do it.
Maybe you won't end up like me. :D

now that's a terrific idea. for whatever reason, i've shied away from automatic delivery. mostly, i've just grumbled to myself that *I* don't need that. *I* can remember when to order something. :P

but for this, it makes a great deal of sense.

won't have to worry about it, it'll just show up at my house!

thanks for that.

i'm shocked, hurt and dismayed. how dare you call me a Big Galoot!

i much prefer the term lummox.

that DOES look most impressive, particularly for the price.

there is another i have bookmarked that another user mentioned not too long ago. but the one they posted was like twenty something bucks.

enough to scare a cheap galoot like me.

i've actually tried one and didn't care for it. it may have been too small and i really should have ordered the next size up.

but i also think it was that shelf like surface where the chin rests. i like the dip in the cervical collar better.
