Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
Having used the p10 for years, I have switched to the p30i system a month or so ago. I have found that I am reticent to frequently clean the p30i because it takes so damned long to dry it out. I end up running the machine for 20-30 minutes in an attempt to get it completely dried out and free of "spitting" liquid! Anyone have any advice or comments?

Only wash when needed.
Get a spare, and air dry the one you wash for as long as it needs.
Daily washing is not necessary, and destroys the equipment.
Sorry about getting sold the AirStart.
Everyone deserves a full data machine.

Based on your previous posts, I think you have the wrong machine listed in your profile. Don't you have the AirSense 10 Autoset? Not the AirStart.RobertS975 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:33 amHaving used the p10 for years, I have switched to the p30i system a month or so ago. I just pop out the pillows once per week, wash in Dawn liquid and rinse well. Then, I sling them well a few times with flips of the wrist to get off excess water. If there are any tiny droplets remaining, they will dry completely by bedtime.Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
The rest of the mask rarely gets cleaned - maybe an occasional wipedown with an alcohol pad.

Yes, you are correct. Actually, I have two of them... one from Medicare and one purchased as a travel machine/spare. Will change the profile.LSAT wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 10:17 amBased on your previous posts, I think you have the wrong machine listed in your profile. Don't you have the AirSense 10 Autoset? Back to my question about the p30i, I am hearing that there is no trick for drying them out quickly then.

Re: Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
I haven't seen or used the P30i so I am assuming you are having issues with the vent holes thing not drying.
Is that what you are talking about?
If that is the case I would either use some canned air or maybe the hair dryer at a low non heat setting to speed up the drying process.
Or simply have 2 pillows available and swap them out when washing one...let it just air dry and use the previously washed and now dry pillow.
If it were me I would just swap the pillows.

No the p30i delivers air right through the head straps from the port on top of the head, and if you flush the air pathway with warm water, it takes quite a bit to get it dry.

So don't do that.RobertS975 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:07 pmNo the p30i delivers air right through the head straps from the port on top of the head, and if you flush the air pathway with warm water, it takes quite a bit to get it dry.
It is not necessary.

Ah...okay....so it is the frame part that is hard to dry?
Not the nasal pillow part?

Correct, but the only way out of the residual liquid are the pillows and adjacent vents.

Re: Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
The frame is something I wouldn't be washing very often but I suppose if I did I would just swap out the frame for a clean dry one.
There's no easy way to dry out the inside of the frame other than blowing air through it with the machine.

Re: Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
Do you live in a humid region? Mine don't have much trouble drying out during the day. I think the filter might be holding water , making it difficult to dry. Then again, I have central air.
If you really need to wash it and have it dry...the hard plastic piece with the filter can be popped out of the silicon by stretching the silicon. That would give it more airflow. But be careful not to rip the silicon and make sure you put it back the right way. There are two notches to guide replacement..one on one end and one on the long side of the hard plastic piece..(Someone else's very useful tip.)

Re: Advice in Cleaning p30i Nasal Pillows
The room is air conditioned, so excess ambient humidity is not an issue. The water in the headgear tubes evaporates or spritzes out after a steady 20 minutes of airflow, more or less. But I am simply not going to get it wet as much as I used to do with my p10. Too time consuming.

Personally I wouldn't wash it all that often. I just don't see the need to. Only thing going through it is filtered air.

If I were immunity-deficient, (or OCD), I would consider getting a Hurricane dryer.
Otherwise, there is no physical need to wash the tubing at all.
Do whatever you need to do, whether it is for physical health or mental health.
It is YOUR equipment.
