They didn't want to fork it before the meltdown because they wanted to work WITH Mr Watkins. But Mr Watkins couldn't handle anybody disagreeing with him, and didn't care about the users of the software... or the fact that there were significant bugs, and unsupported machines... all he *ever* cared about was his ego.
