Can an ASV user use a Resmed P10 mask
Just recently acquired a Resmed ASV ( AHI 0.2) and have purchased a Resmed P10 mask. On reading the mask user guide,it says - this mask is not compatible for use withResmed AutosetCS" 2 and VPAP" Adapt SV devices. It fits into my heated hose, but dont know if this warning is for a simple ASV machine. Help!

Those comments are for the older model ASV machines...long since discontinued.
You don't have one of those models.
With the S9 Adapt and AirCurve ASV models....any mask with any machine will work.

I use a P10 sometimes when I can't wear my full face mask and have no problems with it and I'm on a ASV machine, so go for it.

Re: Can an ASV user use a Resmed P10 mask
Back in the dark ages when I first started cpap and before the S9 models were introduced in 2010 the ResMed high end specialty machines like the ones listed in the mask paperwork required the user to have the machine "learn the circuit" and there were no provisions for any mask to be used except full face masks. This may be part of the reason some DMEs still tell people that if they get ASV they have to use FFM. I don't know for sure.
Anyway....when the S9 models were released the high end machines no longer had to "learn the circuit" and it opened up a whole new world in terms of mask choices.
The warning though, is still included in the mask paperwork because technically it's a CYA statement because there is a real good chance someone out there is still using one of those old dinosaur machines.

Re: Can an ASV user use a Resmed P10 mask
Thanks for your prompt response. Tried the P10 last night. I found it very quiet until my mouth leaks. Thought I wasn't a mouth breather but every 5- 10 minutes I had leakage. Lasted an hour. It was definitely quiet between leakage episodes and was very wife friendly during that period. Would appreciate best way to make this mask work with minimum discomfert.

it's what i use with my p10 mask. i do a slight modification to keep my big yap shut, but it's basically the same.
i also use a firm foam cervical collar.
no leaks, no snoring for me.
